Truth and Reconciliation Day (DROP IN)

September 30, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Drop in under the shade sails to learn and reflect on the second annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Led by Music for the Spirit from the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory.

3 – 4 PM: ART WORKSHOPS

Led by Indigenous youth instructors, follow step-by-step to create artwork representing truth and reconciliation.

4 – 4:30 PM: DANCE DEMONSTRATION

Learn traditional dances with a Haudenosaunee elder.

Guided tours and stories of relations and connections along the Indigenous art path and by the “As the Cycle Turns” Every Child Matters sculpture.

4:30 – 5 PM: OPENING TEACHINGS

Drumming and dance social celebrating and honouring Indigenous culture and the path forward.

All are welcome. In the event of rain, the event will be held throughout the Fleming Branch of Lincoln Pelham Public Library.

Presented in partnership with Downtown Bench Beamsville.
