GivingTuesday is November 29

GivingTuesday is a movement that celebrates the generosity of people who give back to the community the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is an opportunity for us to reflect on the upcoming season and give what we can to causes that matter to us.

Lincoln Pelham Public Library (LPPL) thrives with the support of donations from individuals and businesses that believe in equal access to resources for all. When you donate to the library, you are investing in your community and improving the lives of your neighbours.

Here’s what one of our customers had to say:

“I have called upon your services quite a number of times, especially since COVID-19 became our reality. The times I have counted on staff at the branches is mostly due to the lack of understanding of the e-readers I purchased while we were unable to visit the library. Everyone at the libraries has been exceptionally kind, patient and completely helpful with any issue I sent.  I cannot express how much this means to me during a very difficult time when we were mostly confined to our homes and definitely in need of the entertainment that reading provides.  If we had to pay out of pocket for all the resources we get from the library, we would be living below the poverty line. To say only thank you seems inadequate. You people who staff libraries are simply the best.” —Christine, Lincoln resident

It is an honour for all of us at the library to serve people like Christine, your neighbours, and you.

This GivingTuesday, please consider donating to the library. Donations can be made in-person at any branch or online.

All donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt. And as a special bonus to show our appreciation—all donations $25 and up will receive a desk calendar.

If you are making a donation as a gift for someone and would like a card, please ask for one next time you come to your local branch.

For all that you do to make our community a better place—thank you!
