This GivingTuesday, help expand access to library services for underserved people with a gift toward LPPL’s new bookmobile!
Set to hit the road in 2025, the bookmobile will bring the library to the community, one stop at a time. This “library on wheels” will make scheduled stops in parts of Lincoln and Pelham where there is no physical branch nearby, reducing the distance to service for those without transportation and limited mobility. It will also visit daycares, schools, senior residences, food banks, and community events to support literacy and lifelong learning.
GivingTuesday—the world’s largest generosity movement — is coming up on December 3. This year, we are asking for your help to ensure the bookmobile is ready to serve our community. Your gift will go toward books and technology onboard the bookmobile and outfitting the van’s interior.
We hope you will consider making a gift toward this new service and join us on this exciting journey.
Donations can be made at all LPPL branches or online at lppl.ca/donate. Tax receipts are available with a minimum gift of $20.

Background
In 2021, the former Lincoln Public Library began using a retired municipal wastewater van to provide outreach services in the community, with a focus on outdoor engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dubbed “Rosie,” the ruby red van has been used for the past three years to provide outreach and engage with residents across Lincoln and Pelham.
With an increased demand in services and goal to remove barriers to service, the LPPL board and management team decided to add a customized bookmobile as an additional service point.
The bookmobile will also provide an alternate service point during future renovations of library branches in Vineland and Fonthill.
This project is supported by the Town of Lincoln and Town of Pelham, and with generous funding provided by the Niagara Community Foundation David S. Howes Fund ($33,000) and Desjardins Financial Services ($25,000).
